Training Videos

Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel Netball Logo

The following four training videos have been supplied by Steve Jackson, Sport Science Coordinator of the Ascot Hotel Southern Steel Netball Team.

“I have tried to develop exercises on the Gyroboard which mimic what actually happens on court when landing off balance, getting knocked, and so on, while still concentrating on the ball and what’s going on around them.”

In the videos, the athlete works through a variety of exercises, including jumps and landings onto the deck, passes against the wall and with her coach, as well as a variety of weights used to build core strength.

The team have used the Gyroboard for developing strength and rehabilitating injuries since the beginning of 2009, and were one of the top four finalists in the 2009 ANZ Trans Tasman Netball Championship.

Please Note:These videos are to be used for information purposes only. Should you wish to utilise these exercises for your own core strength and injury prehabilitation training, please do so after consulting with qualified professionals, such as sports coaches, personal trainers, or physiotherapists.
